The Blazing Center » How To Meditate On God’s Word
“Meditation isn’t just for Tibetan monks wearing burlap robes that chafe their armpits. No, everybody loves meditation.
The truth is, the Bible is big on meditation as well. Psalm 1:2 says of the godly man, “… his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Which brings me to the question: what exactly is meditation? According to our culture, meditation is the relaxation of the mind to the point where little or no thought occurs. But according to scripture, meditation is the increased focus of the mind with much deep thought occurring.
The goal of secular meditation is to empty the mind, the goal of godly meditation is to fill the mind with God’s truth. To put it in a succinct definition, godly meditation is the practice of filling the mind with God’s word for the purpose of applying God’s word.”

Develop Your Greatest Skill – Language – Stepcase Lifehack
“The most common method of thinking is verbal thinking. We have a range of intelligences including numerical, musical, spatial, emotional, verbal and kinaesthetic intelligences, yet it is verbal intelligence that we depend on most. We tend to think and express ourselves in words. Mastering the use of words is the most important skill we develop because acquiring further skills depends on our comprehension of language. A tremendous proportion of the early learning for an infant is in developing verbal skills – learning to speak, to understand speech, to read and to write. Whether a baby is brought up in Beijing, Sydney or Moscow it will surely spend thousands of hours acquiring expertise in its native language.
He or she will become proficient with the amazing range, power, complexity and sophisticated subtleties of language. However, once a certain competence has been acquired most people stop developing verbal skills.”

“What is a mother tongue? It’s the language that a human being learns from birth, a vital part of his or her identity.
This story illustrates why Scripture access in the mother tongue is so important.”

Youth in lawless Haiti at risk for sex trade, slavery, murder – Faith & Reason
USAToday talked with Mark Driscoll about his trip to Haiti:
“Brace yourself for a new level of horror in Haiti: Vulnerable children and teens sold into slavery and the sex trade, or simply shot in the streets for no reason.”
“So, if you’re within sound or reach of Driscoll or MacDonald this Sunday — and more than 80,000 people are part of their church networks, millions more download Driscoll’s sermons or tune in the MacDonald’s radio show — expect harrowing stories and a challenge from the pulpit that won’t mince words.”
