The Next Thirty Days

So Bryan Allain has laid down the gauntlet.

He unilaterally declared this month to be Make Your Goal May.

He has challenged his readers to set set an accomplish a specific fitness goal for this month, and he is going to out all of their goals in a post tomorrow.

And He’ll be sharing about the challenge as the month goes by.

Well, one could sit idly by and do nothing. And normally I would take this kind of a challenge lying down. Or at least sitting down.

I’ve needed a good kick in the seat of the pants for a while. So here goes.

I’m in.

Now to choose a goal.

Bryan’s readers have already laid out many excellent and doable goals.

Whats’d my deal?

Well…

G.K. Chesterton

You might say I am beginning to look a bit too much like G.K. Chesterton. Although he had more hair and better taste in headwear.)

So i’m busting out the old tape measure for a specific quantifiable goal.

(If you want to skip the sordid details and simply encourage my success, now is the time to stop reading and give me a shout in the comments)

Currently my girth measures in at 56 inches. Girth, for our purposes, is not waist or chest size, but rather measured at one’s greatest circumference.

I’m shooting for a girth of 50 inches by the end of May.

I have no idea whether this is realistic or even possible.
And I don’t care.

That’s the goal.

Tomorrow I’ll post a bit about the tools and methods I plan to use to reach this goal.
